Bacillus subtilis
Bacillus subtilis known also as the hay bacillus or grass bacillus, is a gram-positive, catalase-positive bacterium, found in soil and the gastrointestinal tract of ruminants, humans and marine sponges. As a member of the genus Bacillus, B. subtilis is rod-shaped, and can form a tough, protective endospore, allowing it to tolerate extreme environmental conditions. B. subtilis has historically been classified as an obligate aerobe, though evidence exists that it is a facultative anaerobe. B. subtilis is considered the best studied Gram-positive bacterium and a model organism to study bacterial chromosome replication and cell differentiation.
Function:
1. Metabolism produces a variety of enzymes, such as a-amylase, protease, lipase, cellulase, etc., work together with the enzyme in the digestive tract of animals, improve the feed conversion rate and promote growth;
2. Consumption of free oxygen in the digestive tract, creates an anaerobic environment, is beneficial for the growth of lactic acid bacteria and beneficial bacteria (including bifidobacterium), improving the intestinal microecological environment;
3. Active substances such as subtiline, polymyxin, gramicidin are produced in the production process.
4. Stimulates the growth and development of the immune organs of the animals, improves the immunity of the group. Reduce incidence and increase survival rate;
5. Anti-stress, has a good antagonistic effect for cold and heat stress, weaning stress, food stress and environmental change;
6. Optimizes the ecological environment, reduces the concentration of harmful gases such as ammonia and hydrogen sulfide in the animal home. Reduces excretion of organic matter.
